Charts-line (graphics)
Charts-line or graphics - is a type of chart on which the data obtained are represented in the form of points connected by straight lines. Points can be both visible and invisible (broken lines). Also, the point can be displayed without lines (point diagrams). For diagramming lines use a rectangular coordinate system. Normally the abscissa delayed time (years, months, etc.), and the vertical axis - the size of depicted events or processes. On the axes scale is applied.
Charts-line appropriate to apply when the number of dimensions (levels) in the series great. In addition, such diagrams are handy if you want to portray the character or the general trend of events or phenomena. Lines are comfortable and the depiction of several time series for comparison, when you want to compare rates of growth. In one diagram of this type is not recommended to put more than three or four curves. Their great number could complicate the drawing, and linear graph loses clarity.
The main drawback of a chart-lines - uniform scale to measure and compare only the absolute increases or decrease the rates during the study period. Relative changes in the indices are distorted when the image of a uniform vertical scale. Also in this figure may be impossible to image series to the surge levels that require a reduction of scale diagrams, and figures in it the dynamics of a "quiet" of the object lose their accuracy. Probability of presence in these types of diagrams abrupt changes in performance increases with the duration of the period of time on the chart.
